The breakfast is the worst we've fount in USA The pool was closed
a good hotel in a lovely part of the world, with one of the best stocked bars.
It was better then I suspected, room was very clean and well decorated, seems a bit dated on the outside (furniture in rooms - at least the one we had - seemed rather new and "modern" ), but that adds to the charm of the hotel, hotel has a lot of commodities on place, restaurant, bar, free internet, so in the end absolutely no deception
Hotel seems a bit dated, but as said earlier that adds to the charm of the hotel, for the rest no complaints
Alpenhof Lodge is just steps away from the center square of Mammoth Lakes. Parking is free as well as the pool facility. The rooms were large enough, clean and comfortable. Overall we had a pleasant stay at the Alpenhof Lodge.
The only serious drawback is the very poor breakfast. You can have breakfast in a tiny corner of the entrance with only 2 chairs (!) meaning it's quite packed in the morning. The reception guy takes care of the breakfast ingredients, I.E. it's quite poor and messy. Better go to the starbucks just 200m into the city center..
Location, design, could easily walk to Mammoth Village, close to the gondola and the lakes
Rooms could include microwave
Staff were very friendly and the room was great for two.
Unseasonally hot weather, the hottest it has been in 23 years meant no air-con to cool us down.
The breakfast ran out very quickly. All that was available was a doughnut & drink.
Its position was good and the staff were friendly there was a fridge in the room. The beds were comfy. bedclothes were dated.
It was a bit old and battered and the continental breakfast was very limited. We had stayed in 5 hotels that week including vegas, bakersfield and fresno. It may be an unfair comparison but the alpenhof was the dearest of all and by a long way the worst. I found old tissues and old food under the beds in the room. No aircon. would recommend only for location.
Was in a good location near restaurants. Room was quite large and comfortable.
Breakfast advertised as bagles/ continental breakfast. It was mostly donuts and packet hot cereal and an orange. We didn't bother with breakfast.
Spacious room. Comfortable beds. Refrigerator included in room. Fairly close to Mammoth Lakes and reasonable drive to Yosemite.
No exhaust fan , the room was a little stuffy.
size of King Room and somewhere to sit
Great setting & value for money - really helpful & friendly staff.
The 'breakfast' was a disappointment - probably better not to offer.
Its one of the best places to stay in Mammoth during the ski season.
The lodge is older than most
The place was central to everything we could want and/or need. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful - beyond anything we could have asked for. This is the 2nd time I stayed here and even though a bit pricer than I would have liked, I would highly recommend to others.
Convenient location to town amenities is sadly the only positive point...
Our room had not been ventilated for at least a day and the temperature was in the high eighties. We only had a Home Essentials dual speed fan and a small window to improve the situation. Needless to say that we only slept a few hours early in the morning when it got cooler. Rooms very basic for the price.
